Select the pins on the map to find out more about the work we’ve done in each location. Since beginning our work in 2009, we’ve successfully implemented programs in 8 countries, with more on the way.
IPI’s work aims to create independent, lasting and sustainable peace in war-affected areas. To do this, we identify local community partners and leaders to ideate and implement solutions. Examples of our work have included micro-finance loans, a revenue-generating poultry farm system, investing in collaboratives, peace research, facilitating peacebuilding dialogues, assisting the demobilization of armed group members and child soldiers, and more.

We build
Lasting Peace
IPI’s work includes:
Developing and implementing peace strategies in war-affected areas in partnership with local peacebuilding champions.
Cultivating an international community of active and aspiring peacebuilders through education and open dialogue.
Emphasizing the intersection of peace scholarship and practice (praxis).
Investing and participating in new peacebuilding initiatives worldwide.
We do this through:
Peacebuilding Programming to implement conflict resolution and peace strategies (e.g., DRC demobilization and reintegration project).
Practitioner-friendly research that provides actionable insights and reflections from successful and unsuccessful conflict resolution and peacebuilding strategies to inform better practice moving forward.
Events and fellowships that bring the worlds of scholarship and practice together to enhance the abilities and networks of existing peacemakers and educate the next generation in effective peacemaking.
We Create
Locally-Led Peacebuilding Solutions
Currently, IPI has four active programs. However, one of our programmatic pillars emphasizes lasting solutions that are sustained long-after our involvement ends. While we may have strategically exited our previous initiatives, we do not necessarily consider them “inactive.”
