Early learning

Prior to launching Innovations in Peacebuilding’s (IP) first project, IP founder Charles Davidson conducted participant observation to learn how other organizations were affecting change among vulnerable populations affected by conflict. This effort especially focused on organizations working among children living on the street. Charles saw examples that inspired future Innovations in Peacebuilding work as well as examples of approaches that were unsustainable or ineffective. This experience shaped the formation of IP and informed our early emphasis on local leadership and self-sustaining financial models.
