In February 2023, we hosted our first Gratitude Gala at the Sassafras Springs Vineyard and Winery in Springdale, Arkansas. We were happy to welcome about 50 IPI supporters, some who have been with us for 14 years and others who have joined our mission recently!

The evening began with a presentation from founder Dr. Charles Davidson, who recapped some of IPI’s major accomplishments, including all of our past work over 14 years since our beginning. We also shared some more current updates, outlining the ongoing peace efforts and armed group demobilization in the Congo (alongside the Carter School at GMU), and a presentation of two short films. The first is an animated film illustrating the work being done through Thierry’s Project in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and can be viewed here. The second is a live action film that recaps the results we’ve achieved in the DRC and will be made available for viewing soon (stay tuned!). We were also happy to have the opportunity to recognize some of our outstanding supporters who have made this mission successful through their donations and advocacy for IPI over the years.
The night included a silent auction to raise funds for our upcoming projects. Spalted Hollow Woodwork offered beautiful products for the auction.
We are happy to share that as a result of this fantastic evening, we have received incredible financial commitments toward both child soldier demobilization and for the armed group community reintegration projects…both happening in the Congo. We are so grateful for your continued support and participation in peacebuilding. We’re looking forward to sharing with you all the exciting things to come.
If you have any questions, comments, or want to follow up on anything gala-related, please reach out to us here. We’d love to hear from you.
